Their pressure ranges are adjustable in a range from –5 % to +105 % FS in a ratio of 1:4 without any specification changes. Measuring units and dam- ping can also be adjusted. The reverse voltage and short-circuit protected absolute and gage pressure trans- mitters have an RS485 (MODBUS) interface with pressure and temperature outputs and meet the EMC Direc- tive EN 61000. In addition, a 4–20 mA output signal with a conformity error of 0.1 % maximum is available. The versatile PTM housing concept allows the user an optimum adaptation of the pressure port or electrical connection to his mechanical requirements. If a mV/volt output signal is enough or if the current consumption must be minimised, then the passive level sensor TM/N is an optimal choice. From January 2009 the PTM and PTM/N will also be available in an Ex variant. The typical application areas include machine building and plant engineering, process engineering and food processing, mobile hydraulics as well as measuring and control technology. The German Technisches Hilfs- werk THW is using the 16 cm long piezoresistive PTM immersion probes of the DTM version 0 ... 1 bar through- out Germany for measuring high-water levels with an accuracy of 1 cm.
